Tax-Wise Giving at Year End

You can help this and future generations attain optimal health and save on your end-of-year taxes by making a charitable gift to PPNF.  Here are a number of the more popular ways to consider when making your charitable gift.

GIFTS OF CASH
This is the easiest way to make a gift to PPNF and receive a charitable deduction at the same time.  Just be sure the envelope that contains your gift is postmarked by December 31st.

USE YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD
This is a convenient option for giving to PPNF.  You can use your credit or debit card on our secure website which automatically transfers your gift to PPNF in the amount you request.  Click here to visit our donations page, select your donation amount and follow the instructions.  The donation will be charged to your account and PPNF will send you a letter of receipt.

TRANSFER A GIFT THROUGH YOUR IRA
If you are 70 ½, you are eligible to transfer up to $100,000 to PPNF from your IRA.  If you use the standard deduction, the transfer from your IRA is not counted as income and is therefore not taxed.  For those who give over 50% of their income to charitable projects, you are allowed to donate additional amounts from your IRA on a non-taxable basis.

GIFTS OF APPRECIATED STOCK
You can donate a gift of stock without having to convert it to cash first.  By transferring your gift of stock to PPNF, you can avoid capital gains tax on any increase in value since its purchase.  Your charitable deduction will be equal to the full market value of the stock.

GIFTS OF LIFE INSURANCE
Consider making PPNF one of the beneficiaries of your life insurance policy.  This is an easy way to divide a portion of your estate between your family and your favorite charity.  Check with your life insurance agent about the proper procedure and forms to complete.
